I fixed my thick, black hair in the mirror and found
Thin, blonde strands tangled in the teeth of my comb.
On my jackets, in my jeans,
Like a dog’s hair on its owner.
Are pets covered in human hair?
Do they scratch the greasy strands out of their fluffy coats?
I wouldn’t know, I never had a dog. My parents wouldn’t let us get one.
They always made up excuses, like they were allergic or something.
But really,
I think they just didn’t like dogs.
